Summary:
Annotated carbon copy of an early manuscript of Ḳunṭres ʻEts ha-ḥayim, Shalom Dov Baer Schneerson's brief treatise on the importance of studying Hasidut on suggestion of his son, Joseph Isaac Schneerson in 1903; the former owner and annotator was Aryeh Leib Cohen. Writing over the carbon copy is mostly over words which were pressed down lightly and were less legible; much of the opening folios are written over. Carbon offprint text is blue; ink mostly in black. Item likely originated in Li︠u︡bavichi, Russia, and Cohen possibly related to Yeshivat Tomchei temimim in Li︠u︡bavichi (the text and original manuscripts were composed for members of the yeshiva; see אגרות קודש (אדמו"ר מוהריי"צ), 8 (5740), pages 553-4.
