Luis Buñuel's The Great Madcap
Summary:
A wealthy Mexican family attempts to change the spending habits of their hedonistic father by telling him that his large fortune is gone and assuming a life of poverty. The father discovers the deception, but continues to feign ignorance while sneaking off during the day to conduct his still thriving business. This satirical film explores the themes of transsexual humor, sexuality in advertising, the working class' comical exploitation of the ruling classes, and the link between Christian evangelism and hard-sell advertising.
