- Summary:
- During the 1930s and 1940s, postcards and urban photographs highlighted the image of post-revolutionary Mexico. There was a need to show a country that left behind the bloody days of the Revolution and that was moving decisively towards industrialization and modernity. It was urgent to see a stable Mexico willing to make the cities the privileged space for the settlement of the new bourgeoisie born of the Mexican Revolution. The widespread use of urban postcards brought a new reality to the population. In this way, the photograph of the city gave content to the official narrative, becoming the medium par excellence for projecting the new urban realities onto the popular imagination. Hence this project that shows representative images of Puebla whose common thread is history.
