Summary:
Exhibition held within the framework of the 100th death anniversary of revolutionary leader Emiliano Zapata, presenting the artistic production of more than 60 artists and collectives of all generations who have developed the theme of struggle, land conservation and inclusion. New exponents of engraving in dialogue with creators of the first and second half of the 20th century include noted names such as José Guadalupe Posada, David Alfaro Siqueiros, Leopoldo Méndez, Raúl Anguiano, Ignacio Aguirre, Arturo García Bustos, Mariana Yampolsky, Alberto Gironella and Federico Cantú, among others; alongside contemporary artists such as Rolando de la Rosa, Arnulfo Aquino, Jorge Pérez Vega, Demián Flores and Sergio Sánchez, as well as young exponents who make up the collectives Guindah, Hoja Santa, La Buena Estrella, Lapiztola, Asaro, GranOM, Stencil México, Jaguar Print, María Pistola and the members of the laser engraving workshop of the UNAM. For their part, Pablo Cotama, Omar Arcega, Brenda Castillo, Alejandra España, Nuria Montiel and the urban artists Triana Parera, María Canfield and Mariana Ochoa produced pieces of experimental graphics. The exhibition included a variety of current techniques, such as laser engraving, electrolysis, lapoupée woodcut, MDF engraving, 3D plate printing, wax engraving, digital prints, photolithographs, chine collé, monotypes, stencil, videos, installations, sculptures and oil paintings, but also traditional techniques, such as linoleum printing, lithography, woodcut, drypoint, etching, aquatint, cynography, screen printing, transfer, photogravure, heliography, sculpture, mural and mixed media.
