- Summary:
- "Members of the Columbian 415 Chappel, as their first project, published Roby Wentz' recollections of Haywood Hunt, beloved San Francisco printer and convivial friend of all bookish folk. In preparation for this task the group read the manuscript, determined the format, choose the type style, size and measure, selected related type ornaments, and working together set the type and printed the book. It was a success and was selected as one of the Western Books of 1980. The planning discussions were led by the author of this set of observations. Later he was asked by the Zamorano Club of Los Angeles to speak on book design. He recalled the experiences of planning the Wentz book and used them as the background for his presentation on October 3, 1979. The notes for the talk make up the substance of this book."--Introduction.
