- The Botica [author unknown] listed herbal and other remedies, some of which had no medical value. Its importance is that, in 1838, it was the first medical book printed in California.

- Colophon :"This publication, sponsored by the Zamorano Club of Los Angeles, is presented as a keepsake on the occasion of the joint meeting with the Roxburghe Club in San Francisco, October 1-2, 1988, in a limited edition of 300 copies. The text is set in Electra, designed by W.A. Dwiggins; the display type is Deepdene, designed by Frederic W. Goudy. The book has been designed and printed by Richard J. Hoffman in his Van Nuys studio on acid--free Mohawk Superfine archival paper. The binding has been executed by Mel Kavin at his firm Kater-Crafts Bookbinders in Pico Rivera. The facsimile of the Botica has been produced by Litho West, Los Angeles."
