- Summary:
- A report on Florida's Amendment 4, which allows many ex-felons the right to vote. Earlier this year a law was passed which restricted the voting rights of citizens who had previously been allowed under Amendment 4. The law, called SB 7066, restricts anyone with financial debt from voting under the amendment. Though many see the law as biased and over-restrictive, with many ex-felons unable to even find out how much money they do owe, efforts to fight the law have been resisted by Florida lawmakers. Includes interviews with Desmond Meade, voting rights activist and Executive Director of the Florida Rights Restoration Coalition; Pastor Clifford Tyson, who sued after being unable to vote; Senator Jeff Brandes (R-FL); and Chaz, a voting rights activist.
