Summary:

The book combines research, teaching, and dissemination to present a series of considerations about Salvadoran rock art, particularly from the eastern region, and seeks to generate interest, reflection, and debate about its possible cultural, historical, and artistic characteristics. Starting from the detailed description of the Grotto of the Holy Spirit, its objective is to generate interest in specialists and the general public to overcome some conditions that prevail in the study of Salvadoran rock art, since most of the research is dispersed in unpublished articles or reports, there is no updated work that exposes recent or past findings. or explain the importance of this heritage. The book includes as an appendix an unpublished report on the analysis of the rock pictorial material collected in the Gruta del Espíritu Santo, carried out by Salvadoran archaeologist Claudia Abigail Ramírez.
