Andrew Jackson, President of the United States of America, to all and singular to whom these presents shall come, greeting : whereas a treaty was made, at Chicago, in the State of Illinois, on the twenty-sixth day of September one thousand eight hundred and thirty-three, between the United States, by their commissioners George B. Porter, Thomas J.V. Owen, and William Weatherford, and the United Nation of Chippewas, Ottowa, and Potawatamie Indians, and whereas certain supplementary articles were added thereto by the said parties on the twenty-seventh day of September of the same year, and whereas an alteration in the foregoing was acceded to, by the chiefs of the said nation, on the first day of October one thousand eight hundred and thirty-four : which Treaty, supplementary articles, and the alteration proposed by the said chiefs, are in the following words ...
