Summary:
When and where did the 1908 Revolution begin? The author argues that the Anatolian uprisings before 1908 constitute the preparation phase of the 1908 Revolution. This book reveals the details of the revolutionary attempt of the Committee of Union and Progress in Anatolian cities between 1905 and 1907. The appendix includes reprints of Turkish articles from 1906-1908 and Turkish translations of three Russian essays on the influence of the 1905 revolution in Russia on the Young Turks (H.M. Tsovikyan), popular uprisings in Asia Minor during the Russian Revolution of 1905 (A.M. Valuiskii) and Russian archival resources for studying this era of Turkish history (A.M. Valuiskii)
