Summary:
Parchment leaf with German and Latin text in German cursive script and musical staff notation, from the mid-15th century, formerly used as a flyleaf. The recto is text only, including a list with the phrases "Haec est virgo sapiens," "Domine non sum dignus," and "Lumen ad revelationem," possibly related to chants or songs. The contents of the verso include a sacred song in two parts for a religious observance with a Latin text, written on 5-line staves; the text of the Monk of Salzburg's translation into German of the Latin hymn text "Mittit ad virginem" by Peter Abelard; and, in darker ink, possibly a medicinal or culinary note (Christie's).
