- Summary:
- In the span of two years, Polish director Pawel Lozinski has collected snippets of the conversations of neighbors and strangers who have walked past his balcony. The opening scene of his film, The Balcony Movie, begins with a camera being set up with a view of the sidewalk. The view from his balcony is the main shot used throughout the film. As people walk by, they notice the camera. The audience at the Missouri Theatre laughs as passersby react (or don't) to the camera's presence. As people walk by, Lozinski asks who they are and what they want. He tells them that he's making a film about life. The responses he receives are perhaps not what you would expect. Some are lighthearted and funny, and some are brutal and to the point.
