- Biography/History:
- Edith Standen (1905-1998) was a tapestry curator at The Metropolitan Museum of Art. Her career at the Museum began in 1949; in 1993 she was appointed Curator Emeritus. From 1945-1947 Standen served in the Monuments, Fine Arts and Archives section of the American Military Government in Germany.
