- Summary:
- María Paz Amaro (Santiago de Chile, 1971) holds a PhD in Art History. This study, her most recent book, is an analysis of the atlases of artists Gerhard Richter (Germany), Luis Felipe Ortega (Mexico) and Alex Dorfsman (mexico), and where the author asks: What is our contemporary relationship with images? What are our ways of seeing? In the context of a time plagued by visual stimuli, in which images are generated, reproduced and moved at an uncontrollable speed and without apparent limits, these questions raise the need for a situated thought-in the situationist sense of the term-that functions both as a perspective of analysis and a taking of a position.
