- Summary:
- The book is the result of extensive research and a thorough survey of unpublished sources by architecture critic and essayist Francesco Perrotta-Bosch. Few public figures are more Brazilian than the Italian born architect Lina Bo Bardi. Following Brazil after the Second World War, she became familiar with Brazilian culture in such a way that she became one of its main interpreters. There would be three projects for her to grow into her name in the pantheon of Brazilian architecture: Maspe and Sesc Pompeia, both in São Paulo, and Solar do Unhão, in Salvador. Critic of architecture and essayist of mão-cheia, Francesco Perrotta-Bosch examines the trajectory of this brilliant artist in the light of the following questão: how a foreigner was able to enxergar so much of a country that was not hers, at the point of translation. What for your own Brazilians?.
