Summary:
The first issue of Ensaios, bringing together studies that examine facets of Brazilian Modernism. To select them, a call for projects of Brazilian PhD researchers was made. Maria Claudia Coelho, anthropologist and director of the Institute of Social Sciences of the Universidade do Estado do Rio de Janeiro, at the invitation of the director of the Casa Roberto Marinho, Lauro Cavalcanti, structured the process and the selection of candidates. The stimulus to research on these three subjects is paramount for its dynamism as a center focused on the contributions of Modernism in Brazil.
