Summary:
The first lockdown imposed by the Covid-19 pandemic made clear the need to establish meeting points, to share and to create. Thus appeared the possibility of playing by creating a virtual artistic exchange between Buenos Aires and Paris. The works in "Nosotras Cautivas" are built using the "exquisite corpse" technique, created by the Surrealists in 1925. It is a sequential composition, in which each participant draws on a sheet of paper and then folds the content, leaving only a portion of the drawing visible. In this way, each artist intervenes in the collective work, following only the clue received, without seeing the content of the previous creation. The set is made up of several triptychs, in which three artists have been invited to intervene in one of the three sections A, B and C of the work. The identity of the participants has been kept secret and the result of the finished works is revealed in this publication. The project grew and was built with participants from Argentina and France, establishing links between young artists and established artists, known and unknown, near and remote, weaving links between people and their works. For more than two years Nosotras Cautivas invited, collected, ordered and successively forwarded the clues to the artists who fed the works. The collection today comprises 55 triptychs by 79 artists. The three "captive" women of the project "Nosotras Cautivas" are Delia Cancela, Celeste Leeuwenburg and Julia Nowodworski. Participating artists include: Jennifer Abessira, Manuel Aja Espil, Amalia Amoedo, Edgar Avila, Guillermina Baiguera, Elba Bairon, Marcella Barceló, Cecilia Bengolea, Carole Benitah, Romain Bernini, Alison Bignon, Adriana Bustos, Delia Cancela, Camila Carella, Chiachio & Giannone, Cynthia Cohen, Mariana Coló, Flavia Da Rin, Michelle Dabul, Marina De Caro, Sigismond De Vajay, Margaux Derhy, Margaux Desombre, Leandro Erlich, Sofía Fanego, Nicolás Fernández Sanz, Ana Gallardo, Santiago Gasquet, Eléonore Geissler, Teresa Giarcovich, Edgardo Giménez, Juan Gugger, Antonin Hako, María Ibañez Lago, Ellande Jaureguiberry, Cassandra Jetten, Leandro Katz, Irina Kirchuk, Guillermo Kuitca, David Lamelas, Maja Lascano, Celeste Leeuwenburg, Nemo Leeuwenburg, Juliette Lemontey, Patricio Lima Quintana, Dimitri Mallet, Nicolás Mastracchio, Marta Minujín, Luciano Murúa Tolcachier, Alejandro Musich, Julia Nowodworski, Marie Orensanz, Luna Paiva, Paula Parisot, Constanza Piaggio, Jorge Pomar, Ghislaine Portalis, Damien Poulain, Pablo Reinoso, Martín Reyna, Solène Rigou, Lia Rochas-páris, Elbaz Liv Rochas-páris, Sebastian Chebo Roitter Pávez, Mariela Scafati, Cristina Schiavi, Romain Sein, Adrien Selbert, Mariana Sissia, Natalia Sly, Eduardo Stupía, Cecilia Szalkowicz, Sofía Torres Kosiba, Clemence Vazard, Nahuel Vecino, Paola Vega, Valeria Vilar, Charlotte Vitaioli and Mora Winik.
