- For some twenty years, the Israel Antiquities Authority has conducted ongoing conservation work in the 'Knights' Halls' in Old Acre in order to prepare the site for the public. Intervention at the site aimed at restoring the static scheme of the ancient structures and at the same time, preserving their architectural heritage and construction technologies. As a result, the site was tranformed into a 'field laboratory', providing valuable experience to be considered in future conservation project.
