- Summary:
- Multiperspectiva, written by Ernesto Mendoza Téllez, is the second book to win the Premio Nacional de Ensayo sobre Fotografía 2021 in the category of Researcher in Training. This essay explores the relationship between the concepts of time, space, perspective, and photography, while pointing out the difference between gaze and vision. Through an organized and systematic exhibition of his creative process and photographic production, Mendoza Téllez explores how these elements are intertwined and how photography can be a means of understanding reality from multiple angles. Mendoza Téllez's photographic project was developed in five phases, and the resulting photographs are the product of multiple exposures, juxtaposition of images, overlapping of shots, or unusually long exposures. Each of these methods has a symbolic relevance that dialogues with the technical limitations encountered in the process. Through this visual task, the author questions perspective and delves into questions about the vanishing point and the center of photographic space. Ultimately, what Mendoza Téllez invites us to do is share the inner life of his photographic project. We are reading the exchange that exists between his thoughts, his feelings, the work he creates and the texts that go through his production process.ʺ.
