Summary:

The tram, one of the important elements of modernization, was welcomed with great satisfaction in the first years of its operation in Istanbul, as it made the lives of Istanbulites easier and improved their quality of life. It was a great convenience for the people living in the suburbs to have easy access to workplaces in the city center. The passenger satisfaction that occurred in the early days was reversed in the later years of the operation as a result of not making investments in line with the demand and neglecting the operational improvement processes, and the transportation system itself, which was built as a solution, turned into a big problem. While the contribution of the tram network to the growth of the city is evaluated through the building inventory prepared on a household basis, the satisfaction of the people of Istanbul with the transportation service is traced with business data and interesting scenes from daily life.
