"This is a collective biography and oral account of 9 first-generation women farmer-activists: Ko Song-ja, Park Nam-sik, Seong Ok-seon, Oh Bun-im, Lee Jeong-ok, Lee Jong-ok, Lim Bong-jae, Im Soon-bun, and Jang Sun-ja. Since such records did not exist so far, it is a valuable book with historical value. It vividly testifies that female farmers were oppressed not only by class oppression but also by male-centered patriarchal feudal discrimination. In this situation, four writers recorded the process of building an independent women's farmers' association with their own strength and the lives of nine women farmers' activists who led it, through interviews" -- various websites.
