- Summary:
- The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA), Universitas Sam Ratulangi (UNSRAT) Manado, Indonesia, conducted The 2nd International Conference On Natural Sciences, Mathematics, Applications, Research, and Technology (ICON-SMART) virtually on 21-22 October 2021. ICON-SMART is an annual event held to provide a platform to researchers, academicians, professionals, educators, and industries to share and generate interests in cutting-edge research, applications, education, and technology, as well as issues in the related areas of the theme, which is updated yearly based on present and forecasted needs. This year's theme was Materials Science and Bioinformatics for Medical, Food, and Marine Industries. The COVID-19 pandemic has taught us the importance of providing good medicines and medical tools, food, and marine products. The latter is very relevant, especially for Indonesia and marine countries. The pandemic also has shown us that understanding genetics and the utilization of the study of living cells and cellular materials is essential. The theme of the conference was chosen in view of the current revolution and rapid developments in the race to make better, efficient, and sustainable productions, the manipulation of materials, the right model, and utilizing living cells and cellular materials for the benefits of fast, high-quality, and ready to use medical, food, and marine products by environmentally friendly industries. So, this proceeding covers the following topics but is not limited to Materials Science, Physics, Bioinformatics, Medical Science, Food Science, Marine Science, and Industrial Engineering.
