- Plura comments at length on Hoare's portrait at the Academy in Florence and another in the gallery. (These paintings are probably the self-portraits in the Accademia del Disegno and the Uffizi.) He then sends regards to his fellow poor sculptors Joseph Nollekens (under whom Plura had trained in Italy) and Thomas Banks, and to la mama Maria Cosway and conveys the compliments of Giovanni Bastianelli. Plura also discusses his stay in Venice, mentions Gaetano Stefano Bartolozzi, and reports that Paolo Veronese's Europa was about to be repaired.
