Summary:

The manuscript contains notes on travel made in the company of a Mr, probably James, Six, to the Low Countries, Germany, France, Switzerland, and Northern Italy, with attention paid to geography, industry and manufacturing, architecture and engineering, historical anecdotes, etc. There are four pages of drawings at the end. On Stanley and his travels, see The Early Married Life of Maria Josepha Lady Stanley, ed. Jane Adeane, 1899, p. 15ff, which is said to be extracted from Stanley's own Praeterita.
