Summary:
Contains a profuse amount of color plates by de Paz Errazuriz; Pedro Lemebel etc. Every archive is a posthumous device. Its activation is perpetrated with independence of the author's life. Archiving is a bit of dying, despite whomever is archived continues to live. This book explores a opposite direction. It supports the idea that the file exceeds its funerary condition and forms of life and somatic permutations capable of defying the sharp division between life and death, inclined to emancipate the coincidence between the material end of the author and the cessation of writing by him. writing after death approaches the ingenious ways in which the authorial body write after dying. Javier Guerrero proposes that, thanks to the erotic capacity of our hands and bodies, the archives of Delmira Agustini, Severo Sarduy, Reinaldo Arenas or Pedro Lemebel, among others, become an excess capable of arguing and, on occasions, dismiss the disappearance of the body that he writes. It is a place without limits whose metamorphosis is gestated in the material contact with the apparent stillness of the papers. Javier Guerrero is Associate Professor of Latin American Studies from Princeton University. His work proposes intersectionsbetween literature, visual culture and sexuality.
