- Summary:
- The Argentinian artist's first exhibition at the MNBA, which includes works made during the last decade. With more than 50 years of experience, the sculptor, painter, designer and architect Jacques Bedel (Buenos Aires, 1947) presents a selection of works with which he explores renewed expressive possibilities of a traditional genre such as the natural and urban landscape; in addition to proposing a reflection on the cosmos, emptiness and human finitude. It is a succession of digitally printed photographs on polycarbonate or PVC, in which he represents giant clouds; spots that evoke the mountain range seen from the air; inert plastics that make their way like water between emerging cement blocks and urban environments captured against the light. In some works, the author superimposes images or also plays with shadows, increasing depth and achieving a certain vibration that amplifies the immensity of the humid landscapes of land, air and sea.
