Summary:

The eight researches participating in the book aim to study the relationship that the Mixtecs established with their territory from pre-Hispanic times to the present day. To this end, the investigations carried out in the three subregions known as Mixteca Baja, Alta and the Coast -located between the current states of Puebla, Guerrero and Oaxaca- take as a reference the pre-Hispanic and colonial Mixtec lordship as a unit of analysis to understand the changes and continuities that these forms of political and territorial organization experienced over time from their representation in maps, codices and documents or through the narratives created by the communities. The last chapter intends to address the study of the territory from the analysis of the narrative lines collected in the voice of some current communities that reflect on their past and their current territorial situation.
