Biography/History:
Jianmin Ma is a professor at Tiangong University, Changsha, China. He serves as the Associate Editor of Chinese Chemical Letters, Academic Editor for Rare Metals, and is an editorial board member for the Journal of Energy Chemistry, Chinese Chemical Letters, Nano-Micro Letters, Journal of Physics: Condensed Matter, Journal of Physics: Energy, Chemistry-An Asian Journal, and others. His research interests focus on energy storage devices and components including metal anodes and electrolytes, and theoretical calculations from density functional theory and molecular dynamics to finite element analysis. Junliang Yang is full professor in the School of Physics and Electronics at Central South University. His research interests are focused on flexible and printed electronics, as well as energy material and devices. He has published over 260 papers in international journals such as Chem. Rev., Adv. Mater., Adv. Energy Mater., ACS Nano, Nano Energy, etc., (with over 160 first-author or corresponding-author papers), has been granted 35 patents, and co-founded a company. He is the Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry, and was selected as one of the 'Top 100000 Scientists in the World' and 'World's Top 2% Scientist'. He has received awards for the National Top Young Talents and the Excellent Talents of the Ministry of Education.
Summary:
Electrochemical capacitors are energy storage devices with high power density, excellent cycle stability and environmental benignity. This text provides comprehensive coverage of the fundamentals of electrochemical capacitors, including metal properties, the mechanisms of different types of capacitors, and their function at low temperatures and under flexible conditions. The current research status and future challenges are also discussed, providing an authoritative and comprehensive reference to the field. The book includes a particular focus on the electrode materials and electrolytes used in electrochemical capacitors. The structural design of electrode materials and the latest research in the development of electrode materials and electrolytes are also discussed. This is an essential reference for researchers working on electrochemical capacitors, particularly those who are new to the field.
