Summary:

This book is the outcome of a meeting of texts sent by collaborators invited by the organizers affiliated to the Programa de Pós-Graduação em Artes Visuais (PPGAV) of the School of Fine Arts of the Universidade Federal da Bahia(UFBA). The work consists of nine articles, in which the authors were invited to think about the various aspects of memory, in dialogue with images, documents, reports, and the consequences of injustices, which opened an alternative way for the elaboration of narratives of urban evictions, among other problems of the residents of Brazilian cities. A collection modulated by the body and by the militancy that now sought visualization techniques and, therefore, the texts deal more specifically with the relations of art with the public space and with the relations of power. In this context, the reflections on mobility, artistic strategies and tactics, collective agency, democratic processes, authoritarianism, social function of spaces, pixo, graffiti, collective subjectivity, occupation, exclusionary resistance, removals, violence, dispute over territory, sharing, deceleration and memory, are mentioned, articulated, tensioned and reflected from some contemporary philosophers, with the purpose of thinking about the "future of memory" inscribed in the spaces and bodies that make up the Brazilian cities.
