Summary:
What do Juhani Pallasmaa, Juvenal Baracco, Fumihiko Maki, Balkrishna Doshi and Byoung Soo Cho have in common? In addition to being great and recognizable figures on the world architectural scene, they have all shaped the path of Luis Longhi, a Peruvian architect whose work has left an indelible mark on the way architecture is understood and executed in our country, to the point that If we can today talk about the existence of a "Peruvian architecture" it is thanks to him. This book also reveals Longhi beyond architecture, showing us the details of his work as an academic, sculptor, set designer and museographer (he played a decisive role in the curatorship of the exhibition "Yuyanapaq"). Written in the first person and as very personal statements, the texts were constructed as a kind of collage, organized based on dozens of conversations, conferences, interviews, and ideas and thoughts taken from their personal logs, in which their way of reflecting is inexorably accompanied by drawing; therefore, we will find here a series of illustrations that show his imprint on the basis of the three axes of the architect's thought: feel, think and do. There are, in total, four chapters with nineteen subchapters, where the last painting "which is called Dreaming" is a very intimate story, in which Longhi shows his naked emotions, but full of hope and transcendence.
