Summary:
Series dedicated to the works, projects and architectural essays produced by the docents of the PUCP. This fourth number is dedicated to Susel Biondi (Peru 1977), an architect and doctor in sustainable architecture. She is a partner of the architecture firm René Poggioni + Susel Biondi, a studio that proposes to work from the specialization in "sustainable design" together with an aesthetic of high visual value as an added value to what the concept already supposes. The texts that make up this book were written by the author while she was studying for her doctorate at the Catholic University of Leuven. There she had the privilege of being part of the Cellule de Recherche Architecture et Climat team of the Faculty of Applied Sciences of UCL and taking the courses of the Master Européen en Architecture et Developement Durable (MADD). All these experiences helped shape these three writings, between 2004 and 2008, and which are now published as part of the Faculty Collection. The first explains the urgency of action in the face of global unsustainability by reviewing the last decades and reviewing the human perspective on its relationship with the planet, and consequently, its way of operating on it. The second places architecture within a current and global ethic: the ethic of sustainability. The third revolves around the way of approaching reality in order to be able to propose appropriate and responsible architectural interventions from an ethic of sustainability.
