《毫末起雄風：一九四九年渡海來臺新本土書家作品集珍》起源於國立中山大學文學院一場本土書家作品一日快閃展，而後國立清華大學文物館於2022年1月舉辦了特展「毫末起雄風」，特精選其中由于右任、彭醇士、溥儒、陳定山、劉太希、臺靜農、王壯為等七位著名書法家之二十五幅珍品，在清華大學正式展出，並獲得熱烈回響。有鑑於「新本土書家」的時代意義重大，為更廣為傳遞「新本土文化」理念，國立清華大學文物館決定出版《毫末起雄風：一九四九年渡海來臺新本土書家作品集珍》，將這七位1949年前後渡海來臺的重要書法家作品共錄於一書。-- Publisher's site.
