- "The Road to War" chronicles the world events that ultimately led to World War II. Included are the rise of Adolf Hitler and his Nazi party in post-World War I Europe; the rise of communism, fascism, and National Socialism; American isolationism, including the lend-lease program; fighting in Europe, including the German blitzkrieg; and the Holocaust. The program culminates with the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941, and America's declaration of war.
