- Summary:
- "In lush paintings of gardens, meadows, and wetlands, British artist Rosalind Wise invites viewers into the natural vistas she knows and loves. Her works are large, typically four to five feet across, to communicate a sense of place. On behalf of the viewer, Wise strives to capture the energy and sensory detail of a moment in time. Having sketched a scene in the open air, she later focuses on color, texture, and form when completing the painting in her studio. This book presents more than one hundred of Wise's paintings, created from the 1980s to the present. An accompanying essay by Shawn Vandor, titled "Little Dreams of Creation," adds context to Wise's work and insight into the artist's creative process, background, and philosophy"-- Provided by publisher.
