Jewish-American socialist, fiction author and novelist, and one of the founders of the Forverts (Jewish Daily Forward).

Summary:

Letter from Abraham Cahan to Judge Mayer Sulzberger (addressed from 5-7 Dey St. New York, on the stationary of The Commercial Advertiser, editorial department); Cahan writes to Sulzberger that he did not have a synopsis requested at a talk they had "last Sunday morning", and any submissions to the Jewish Publication Society that Cahan would put forth would be in a private capacity, that "[...] In the present case, however, the gulf between the tastes and views of your organization and my own seems to be impassible". Letter written in 13 lines; autograph beside letter text.
