Summary:

The catalog of the exhibition The Front Line. Ukrainian Art, 2013-2019 " tells about the turbulent political and social situation in Ukraine over the past seven years, including events such as the Maidan protests, the annexation of Crimea and the war with Russia. It focuses on materials from the exhibition of 13 Ukrainian artists at the National Museum of Cultures in Mexico City from September 2019 to February 2020. This exhibition was part of a larger interdisciplinary project carried out in Mexico City that also included a series of round tables with the participation of Ukrainian, Mexican and British researchers and artists at the Museo Memoria y la Tolerancia and eight documentary screenings at the Cineteca Nacional. This trilingual publication (English-Spanish-Ukrainian) documents the first large-scale project in America Latina that analyzed the Ukrainian contemporary art scene and the situation in the country. The exhibition was also presented at the Ukrainian Cultural and Educational Center "Oseredok" in Winnipeg, Canada.
