"This book has been designed and printed from hand set type by Thelma & John R. Evans at [The Little press of Este Es] ... near Parker - Colorado. This edition is limited to three hundred copies"--Colophon.
"The manuscript of Calvin Perry Clark is a possession of the Denver Public Library. in putting this simple story into book form, no attempt has been made to edit it. It is copies, with few exceptions, word for word from the manuscript; using, very occasionally, a punctuation mark when necessary to make the meanings evident. The misspellings have been reproduced faithfully as well as the very few breaks and indentations ... The manuscript ... is now brown with age and the ink has become the color of brick dust. An attempt has been made to copy these features in the choice of paper and ink."--Printer's note to "The diary & journal of Calvin Perry Clark".
"This diary of Helen E. Clark was written on scraps of paper which were gathered together in chronological order years later and copied by the author's daughter, Ida D. Albee ... The copy from which this printing is made was secured by the Denver Public Library from Ida D. Albee ... [N]othing has been changed as to spelling, indentations, paragraph arrangement, etc."--Printer's note to "The diary of Helen E. Clark".
