- Summary:
- The main topics are the accusation of murder brought against Cochrane through the death of his servant after flogging, and Cochrane's contract with the East India Company for the monopoly of supplying the Company's troops in Madras with spiritous liquors. There is a report by a Company solicitor, 1786, in reply to a petition presented by the Earl of Dundonald on behalf of Cochrane, and an abstract of Cochrane's case, 1786, against the Company Directors.
