Manuscript in a Nasta'liq hand, dated at the end in the 38th year of Shah'Alam (ca. 1790).
After the Introduction (p. 5), the Sections, headed in red, are: 1. Lahore (p. 27); 2. Delhi (p. 90); 3. Deccan (p. 428); 4. Gujarat (p. 798); 5. Malwa (p. 882); 6. Farukhi Sultans (p.943); 7. Bengal (p.961); 8.Sind and Tatta (p. 979); 8 (sic). Jam Sultans of Sind (p. 988); 10. Multan (p. 994); 11. Kashmir (p. 1005); 11 (sic). Malabar (p. 1048); 12. Shaikhs (p. 1055). Conclusion: general remarks on India (p. 1125). On p. 5 is a table of contents, which does not exactly correspond to these sections.Illumination at the beginning (pp. 1-2) and between Parts I and II (pp. 601-2).
The manuscript is paginated in the hand of A. Ramsay. A translation by Ramsay of the beginning of the section on Kashmir, found loose in the volume, has been pasted in at the end (f. i).
