Durante la guerra civil, Jaén fue capital de la Andaluci a republicana y del Eje rcito del Sur, y por ella pasaron escritores como Miguel Hernández, Pedro Garfias, José Herrera Petere o Andrés Martínez de León, trabajando para el Altavoz del Frente Sur. También estuvieron en ella Antonio Oliver y Carmen Conde. No nos podemos olvidar de los qué ya residi an en la misma, encabezados por Rafael Porlán. Otros jienenses como Manuel Andu jar y Juan Pérez Creus desarrollaron su escritura extraterritorialmente. Nunca se ha prestado suficiente atención a este doble hecho. El presente volumen colectivo se presenta como una contribución necesaria, y casi pionera, al estudio de esta red de relaciones literarias tejidas en torno a Jaén, situando la ciudad como espacio geográfico, literario y simbo lico de referencia en la República de las Letras.Jaén was, during the Spanish Civil War, the capital of the Republican Andalusia and the Army of the South, and there we find writers such as Miguel Hernández, Pedro Garfias, José Herrera Petere and Andrés Martínez de León, all of them working for the Speaker of the Southern Front. Antonio Oliver and Carmen Conde were also in the city. We cannot forget those who already resided there, led by Rafael Porlán. Writers born in Jaén such as Manuel Andu jar and Juan Pérez Creus developed their writing "extraterritorially". Enough attention has never been paid to this double fact. This collective volume is presented as a necessary and almost pioneering contribution to the study of this network of literary relationships woven around Jaén, placing the city as a geographical, literary and symbolic space of reference in the Republic of Arts.
