- Summary:
- The Russian Arctic includes several great seas including the Barents, Kara, Laptev seas, East-Siberian Sea and Chukchi Sea. Arctic regions have a huge influence on practically every environment on the planet. Global changes of atmospheric and oceanic circulation have led to periodic cooling and warming, development and degradations of glacial covers, drainage of extensive territories of a shelf and the subsequent subaqual processing of a relief. This book reviews research on the basic modern processes which influence the formation and relief evolution of the seabed morphology of the Russian Arctic Shelf, as well as classification and the possible geomorphological future of the Russian sector of Arctic regions.
