His work and practice focus on hormone prescribing and providing psychological support, with a particular interest in the aging population. He is Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Transgenderism. Walter serves the World Professional Association of Transgender Health (WPATH) as Treasurer and Executive Board Member.
