- Fibromyalgia is a very common disorder, with a prevalence of 2-4% of the population, and about 85-90% of the patients are women. It is defined as a painful syndrome of nonarticular origin characterized by fatigue, widespread musculoskeletal pain, tiredness, and sleep disturbances without any other objective signs or abnormality on examination.
