Summary:
The book seeks to highlight the most important and transcendental aspects and works of the cultural, symbolic and artistic development of Guatemalan society, so that we can trace a path to understand who Guatemalans have been and who we are. The objective of this book is to illustrate the forms, feelings, assets and tasks of the peoples that make up the country, as well as their rituals, mechanisms, worldviews and the different points of encounter and dissidence that form part of the collective dynamic. "It is organized into three sections: Genesis of a millenary culture, colonial Guatemala, 200 years of independent culture. In each section there are subsections dedicated to architecture, literature, music, plastic arts".
