- Summary:
- One of the major changes that Alzheimer's disease brings to a special relationship is how it affects intimacy and sexuality. Through candid interviews with spouse caregivers and where possible, the spouses who have Alzheimer's this video explores issues such as: blurring of roles between caregivers and intimate partner as the need for caregiving increases; changes in behavior that affects intimacy between the partners; changes in sexual attraction between the partners. The video opens up sensitive and sometimes taboo issues surrounding intimacy, sexuality, and Alzheimer's disease so that those couples and individuals dealing with these issues can feel more free to talk about them in support groups or with professionals.
