- This is a story about Darik - a man who is looking for himself in time and space. In the present Darik is a boorish alcoholic bum. In traveling to the past Darik discovers naturalistic simplicity, familial connections, and neighborly responsibility. Past and present intersect and collide in Adilkhan Yerzhanov's surrealist film about an antisocial character who finally wakes up in the past after having slept through the present. This film showcases the characteristic social and political distinctiveness in Yerzhanov's daring and acclaimed films.
