- Summary:
- From the director of Run Lola Run comes The Princess and the Warrior a mysterious, haunting meditation on the power of love and fate. Sissi (Franka Potente) is a shy, quiet nurse who works and lives in a psychiatric hospital. Like her patients, she has been sheltered from the outside world. But her safe, predictable life almost ends when she is in a horrific accident. Hit dead-on by a truck, she is trapped underneath, unable to move or breathe. From out of the blue, a man crawls under the truck and miraculously saves her life. He then disappears into thin air, as if in a dream. Obsessed by her savior, Sissi sets out to find him. When she does, she discovers that her hero is the cold, sad and angry Bodo (Benno Fürmann), a small time crook who is running not only from the law but from himself. At first Bodo wants nothing to do with Sissi but chance once again intervenes when she happens to be in a bank he is robbing. With her help, Bodo escapes. Sissi brings him home to hide out at the hospital and then sets out to discover whether their paths crossed through simple chance or through the powerful, intricate mechanisms of destiny itself.
