- Summary:
- Rosa Wong Benitez (Sierra Knolle), a struggling fashion designer of mixed Asian descent, protects herself from the vulnerablility of falling in love by having a string of dead-end relationships. Abandoned by her mother when she was a baby, Rosa is obsessed with the old-style Hollywood movie star, Anna May Wong, who she fantasizes to be her mother. Raised in downtown Los Angeles by her "Uncle Otto" (Rodney Kageyama), an older queen and former hairdresser, Rosa's deepest emotional relationships are with gay men, including her best friend Michael (Burt Bulos). Realizing that she is in a rut, Rosa has decided to move to New York City. Before her departure, events force Rosa, Michael and Otto to end the masquerade that they play with each other and reveal their true feelings.
