Summary:

Harris Makalanda has all but won his town's mayoral election. A prominent lawyer deeply devoted to his family, Harris's brilliance and popularity combined have secured a charismatic, well-to-do image. But when his mentally ill son disappears, Harris' world and his shining image quickly unravels. A threadbare reporter discovers that Harris has secretly tucked away a beautiful mistress in a private lodge, and his delighted editor quickly sensationalizes the story into a public scandal. An ex-nun, the mistress cleans and decorates the lodge into a family home as she desperately waits for Harris, and dreams of running away.
