- Summary:
- He helped to change the course of history by spreading Jesus' message. Paul was the world's first shuttle-diplomat, criss-crossing the Mediterranean to spread the new faith. He begins his religious career as a strict Pharisee Jew--law abiding, circumcised and bearded, and violently opposed to Jesus, his teachings and his followers. But when Paul set off for Damascus to arrest followers of Jesus, he experienced a sudden and blinding conversion--and he soon becomes an apostle. His missions were packed with controversy and danger. Successive emperors did their utmost to stamp out the fledgling new religion - but to no avail. Paul, despite never having met Jesus in the flesh, had spread the message of Jesus and turned it into a force that would change history.
